Update from the Patriots-Lions game… and it’s an ugly one
For about an hour, the Internet was completely down here at Ford Field, which meant there were no Twitter or blog updates. That was probably a good thing.

The fourth quarter is just beginning, and it’s been pretty awful all the way through. The Lions have a 27-10 lead over the Patriots, and there have been little positives to report.

A rundown of what’s happened since the last update:

– QB Tom Brady was hit five times, sacked twice, and finished with 12 of 22 for 145 yards with one TD and one INT. He was, simply, crushed. Hit from all sides by Lions DTs Ndamukong Suh and friends. It was rough.

– WR Wes Welker left tonight’s game with a neck injury, one he incurred after making the tackle on Brady’s interception. He stuck Ricardo Silver, stiffened up, and left the field. Not good.

– QB Matthew Stafford went 12 of 14 for 200 yards and two scores, having his way with the Patriots defense. The secondary, one that was thought to be improved, took a huge step back. Devin McCourty had, what I thought was, his worst game as a Patriot. He was beat by Nate Burleson and Calvin Johnson.

– CB Jonathan Wilhite also suffered an injury, but its not clear what he hurt. He did walk off under his own power. More later, if you can stand it…
