Practice notes from poster KRL on JI
General Notes
- Players in full pads
- Practice ran 2 hours and 45 minutes
- For those who have never been to Florham Park, there are four fields. One
that is surrounded by the office complex and the other three run towards the
complex
- Unfortunately there are no bleachers so you will be doing a lot of standing.
Cortland has a better setup but with the lockout you have to deal with it
- When I was last there in 2009 they let you get onto the field. But they
are too popular now so you'll be standing behind the fences that surround the fields
- Burress practiced but his reps were limited. They are easing him back in
- Mason wasn't there early on but showed up towards the end of practice and
immediately was glued to Sanchez & Holmes
- The new strength coach (Hughan?) had them run "suicides" during the warm up period
- Callahan had the O-Line do blocking without using their hands. I guess it
makes them work on their balance & angles
- The individual technique periods are now much longer
- I saw some of the influence of Tom Moore today. He was working with the
WR's on their routes installing more variety of moves and fakes even on the
shorter routes
Player Notes
- The 11 on 11 periods really concentrated on short passes and the running game
- One scuffle with Turner and two big brawls took place today. One with
Ducasse and Pouha the other one had Gilbert against Boggs. Helmets were
ripped off and thrown
- The defensive players that stood out today were:
* Wilkerson
* Pitoitua
* Ellis
* Westerman
* McIntyre
- The offensive players that stood out today were:
* Kerley
* Campbell WR (Temple)
* J. McKnight
* Turner
* Payne
* S. McKnight
- There is no clear leader in the K and P battles
- Holmes also didn't get a lot of reps today
