Hutch on the Jets current cap/roster situation.

r2 comment - If the plan is for Turner or Hunter to be the new starting RT they better be right because another Adrian clarke situation will really p*ss me off. I also can't sign up for $37 mil under. It was widely reported that we were about $14 mil over & I can't believe we made up $50 mil at this point.

Hutch provides another update on the Jets’ cap/roster situation.

Picking through the rubble, he notes that:

The Jets are likely to make a run at Lewis or Scott (and concedes probably Scott)

The Rhodes/Pace restructures are confirmed and he reckons this puts them $37m under the cap

He concedes that this number does not take into account escalations and incentive adjustments (such as the $5.7m due to Revis)

He notes that the Moore cut is expected within the next few days and comes even though he is willing to restructure

He believes the plan may be for Woody to play RG and Hunter or Turner to be the new RT

Following comment from Bassett of tjb:

I still can’t reconcile the $37m figure. He said in the past this was based on a $124m cap and therefore my guess is that the Rhodes and Pace restructuring is already taken into account in his previous $27m figure. The incentive adustment would then get us back (roughly) to the $20m figure, which I continue to believe must be the most accurate one. Will keep digging though, I promise…
