Bye Week Notes- Bob Bullock

Bye Week Notes

I hate Bye weeks, no game to look forward to on Sunday. Especially after watching the offense explode for 56 points under the leadership of AFC Offensive Player of the Week Brett Favre.

The team has two weeks to "fine tune" its philosophy on the offensive side of the ball. It certainly seems to me that Brett will be doing a lot more gunning than running in the coming weeks. Now, with word that preseason star David Clowney is back at practice, it adds another weapon to the passing game. A weapon that has a ton of speed. Picture a four wide-receiver set of Coles, Cotchery, Stuckey and Clowney running patterns with maybe even Keller getting into the mix as well.

Tell me Favre isn't excited about that lineup to sling the ball around to?

If Schottenheimer continues to let Favre be Favre, as he did last Sunday, this Jets offense could really become a scary unit for opposing defenses for the rest of the season.

Don't forget, Jesse Chatman will be added to the running back mix when the Jets resume play against Cincinnati on October 12th. Just another piece to an impressive puzzle the Jets are putting together on offense.

On the defensive side of the ball, it seems Abram Elam will start for Eric Smith at safety against the Bengals. Smith will be serving his bogus suspension for that game. I'm glad it will be Elam and NOT David Barrett. Barrett was moved to safety but continues to make mistakes in the secondary.

How is this guy still on the roster? Anyone...anyone...?

Jets Radio

Listen to some Jets Confidential Radio on Prime Sports Network. Dan Leberfeld brings his "insight"? into the Jets. It is entertaining to listen to this guy sometimes, agree or disagree with him. Greg DePalma does a good job hosting the show too. You should check it out if you haven't heard it yet.
