Three Compensatory Picks

One in the third and two in the seventh, that third rounder could be valuable to us, depending on who we draft earlier and with no fourth, we could get some depth at DE or WR. Looking forward to the draft peace

REDSKINS AWARDED THREE COMPENSATORY DRAFT CHOICES

Ashburn, VA- The NFL announced today that the Washington Redskins will be awarded three compensatory draft choices in the 2008 NFL Draft. The NFL awarded a total of 32 compensatory choices to 15 teams.

The following picks have been awarded by the NFL Management Council to the Redskins:

ROUND/OVERALL SELECTION
3/96
7/242
7/249

Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula based on postseason honors, salary and playing time. The formula was developed by the NFL Management Council. Not every free agent lost or signed is covered by the formula. Under terms of the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents that it acquires in a year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks.

The compensatory free agents lost by the Redskins include, OL Derrick Dockery, RB T.J. Duckett, LB Warrick Holdman and CB Kenny Wright. The only compensatory free agent that Washington signed was LB London Fletcher.
