Why would a hot young prospect want to take on that mess? Remember when Sean Payton turned down the Raiders? 'Nuff said.

Marty
I think Marty would be best. Especially if they can hire him today. Or maybe Art Shell

-Petrino will get another year at least in Atlanta, albeit if he doesn't take a NCAA job and jump ship like Saban. Arthur Blank would admit complete ineptitude replacing a head coach after only one year, and he is a proud man!
- Jason Garrett WILL be a head coach next season....it happens to all the teams that are successful (i.e. Brad Childress, Eric Mangini, Romeo Crenell, Charlie Weis and so on.) maybe the Vikings, Panthers, Rams, or Buffalo?!

Prediction
Garrett will be an assistant head coach for the cowboys next year and a HEAD COACH in Big D by the time they play in the new stadium. Phillips will either stay with the organization or leave Brian Stewart to implement it.

It's so weird how Cowboys fans are so enthralled with Jason Garrett that they want to replace their one-loss head coach for him.
He's just not that good, much less so good you'd fire a guy who's got a hot hand. And the Cowboys can't force Garrett to stay.
That said, I don't think he's that good, and certainly not experienced enough, so by all means please come to Atlanta.

I think you underestimate how many of those wins are due to Garrett's influence. Brian Stewart has played with Phillips for some time and could probably implement a good majority of his system. Garrett, however, would not be easily replaced by Tony sparano, even though Tony is a helluva coach.
I think you vastly underestimate how good of an OC Jason Garrett is. But thats just my opinion.

Certainly we disagree on it, since you're talking about replacing Phillips for him.
I didn't get the hype last year, don't get it this year. You guys have a talented offense, but I don't get Jones forcing a head coach to take an offensive coordinator and I don't understand the hype of getting this guy hired after one year.

Unless Jerry Jones is prepared to shell out huge and all but guarantee that he'll become HC in two seasons I can't see how Cowboys fans think he'll just pass up the opportunity to be a HC especially if it's in a good situation. At the end of the day how would the current HC feel about such a promise...

i think that garrett could leae for atlanta if the price is right (4-5 mil/year) and he has a solid guarantee from blank that he will not be fired for 2-3 seasons. how could he not want to go? he would be able to pick a QB with the the first pick and take time to mold him into a star. plus, if the GM and ownership allow him to clean house and build his own team, much like sean payton was allowed to do in new orleans, i cannot see why he wouldnt take the chance. i think that whoever comes in will have to clean house and get rid of all or at least the majority of vick supporters that are still on the team. imagine what they could get in return for some of the players on that squad.

I think Garrett might leave (emphasis on might) for the right situation after this year. You don't honestly believe that the Falldowns are the "right" situation do you, T? What the Saints offered Payton was a chance to coach a team WITHOUT an Al Davis looking over his shoulder. In retrospect Sean was 100% right in turning down the Raiders. He realized a better position would present itself.

Jerry will put down big money......but he could offer Garrett 5 mil a year as the OC but if Garrett gets an offer for around the same as a HC in a situation he likes then JJ pretty much is SOL!

The key phrase in your post is "in a situation he likes". The Falcons have turned into the Raiders. The only guys who will take that position on are those who are desperate to be a HC. Garrett comes off as anything but desperate.

agree
but maybe Garrett will like the Panthers? Rams? Dolphins? (eh..probably not the Phins)
it all depends on what is influences are, he has a very nice job in Dallas.....he may be motivated by challenges Big A.....in that case ATL. may be something he would be interested in.
How about the Eagles
