    Fin's Top 50 Countdown

Here are the 50 greatest players in Dolphins history, as released by the team and listed in alphabetical order:

Dick Anderson; Bob Baumhower; Doug Betters; Glenn Blackwood; Kim Bokamper; Tim Bowens; Bob Brudzinski; Nick Buoniconti; Mark Clayton; Bryan Cox.

Larry Csonka; A.J. Duhe; Bruce Hardy; Vern Den Herder; Mark Duper; Norm Evans; Manny Fernandez; Bob Griese; Brent Grimes; Keith Jackson.

Jim Jensen; Jim Kiick; Bob Kuechenberg; Jim Langer; Larry Little; Sam Madison; Jim Mandich; Dan Marino; O.J. McDuffie; Nat Moore.

Earl Morrall; Mercury Morris; Tony Nathan; Ed Newman; John Offerdahl; Louis Oliver; Mike Pouncey; Reggie Roby; Jake Scott; Keith Sims.

Bill Stanfill; Dwight Stephenson; Patrick Surtain; Jason Taylor; Zach Thomas; Cameron Wake; Paul Warfield; Richmond Webb; Ricky Williams; Garo Yepremian.

Out of which how many are "pure" Dolphins -- having been drafted in, retired by Miami, and playing for no other team? It's less than half, but I think that it counts for something.

    1. Griese,
    2. Marino,
    3. Dwight Stephenson,
    4. Bill Stanfill,
    5. Tony Nathan,
    6. Ed Newman,
    7. John Offerdahl,
    8. Louis Oliver,
    9. Crash Jensen,
    10. Kooch,
    11. O.J. McDuffie,
    12. Nat Moore who graduated Edison H.S.,
    13. A.J. Duhe,
    14. Bruce Hardy,
    15. V.D.H.,
    16. Duper,
    17. Manny Fernandez,
    18. Dick Anderson,
    19. Bob Baumhower,
    20. Doug Betters,
    21. Glenn Blackwood,
    22. Kim Bokamper, and
    23. Tim Bowens.

Then you have among the top 50 players Brent Grimes, who is mostly an Atlanta Falcon, having only played in Miami three seasons. If he's not the littlest D.B. then Pat Fischer is an inch shorter and 10# lighter than he. I used to watch a lot of Redskins in 1973 and the year after, and still recall Fischer throwing John Brockington, the Packers then 230 lbs. thousand-yard-rushing Fullback, for a loop in a perfect tackle. Something else that was.

MacArthur Lane and he were supposed to be G.B.'s answer to Kiick and Csonka. Poof!
