When the season ends and the votes are counted one of the highly-touted wide receivers from the Class of 2104 is going to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.

It's just a matter of which one. In a year where no rookie quarterback or rookie running back has been consistently good, and like every year where no offensive linemen gets the credit they deserve, the award is going to go to one of the bright, young receivers.

With a month of the season left it's come down to five: Mike Evans, of Tampa Bay; Kelvin Benjamin, of Carolina; Sammy Watkins, of Buffalo; Jordan Matthews, of the Eagles; and Odell Beckham, of the Giants.

Of the five, Matthews was the only one not selected in the first round, which doesn't matter. Last year Green Bay running back Eddie Lacy, a second-round pick won the award and San Diego wide receiver Keenan Allen, a third round pick, finished second.

Matthews, whose rise in the Eagles' offense has come over the past month, or when Mark Sanchez took over at quarterback for an injured Nick Foles, has put himself in the mix.

Beckham, who missed the first month of the season with a hamstring injury, is also coming on fast.

With four games to play, Benjamin leads all rookie in receptions with 57. Matthews is second with 54, followed by Evans (53), Watkins (51), and Beckham (48).

Evans leads in yards with 890. Benjamin is second with 824 followed by Beckham (699), Watkins (695) and Matthews (686).

Benjamin and Evans are tied with eight touchdowns. Matthews has seven, while Watkins and Beckham have five each.

In some lesser publicized, but important statistics, Evans has the most catches of 20 yards, or more, with 18. Benjamin has 13; Matthews has 12 and Watkins and Beckham have noine each.

Matthews leads the competition in yards after the catch with 261. The next closest is Watkins with 237. Beckham has 190; Evans has 156 and Benjamin has 131.

Right now it looks like Evans and Benjamin are in the lead, but Matthews and Beckham are coming on and with a month to go anything is possible.
