    Sad but true

A member here brought up a point about the media labeling a player of a certain teams; of course it was one of the worst rags in the nation, just material wise. A paper that has won all the liberal awards and daily prints an untruth here and there that at times had to be retracted or apologies printed for misreporting! Sounds better than they blatantly lied.

It was probably never printed as the member here claims, but look closer at your football articles, as I write this I know that a percentage of fans like these type of articles. The game of football, to anyone who has ever played the game in depth, it is complex and detailed when speaking of some positions.

Sadly, as fans we do not get information; we get soap opera stories and feel good stories. When an actual article comes out about football, there is so little football content in it that it is useless if you want to know of the player his team or anything actually related to football.

There are reasons for this, our idiot production, college, is pumping out what they call journalist every year, and with that title they feel they can intelligently write on any subject.

So pay attention boys and girls, notice the football material or lack there of, and if you’re a fantasy owner, they have already hooked you, and all you will want to hear are stats soap stories.
Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

was gonna post this until you posted that. Think it might go along with your point. We'll see.

When you listen closely to former players at ESPN/NFLN/etc., especially those who were on dynasty teams, they all attribute winning championships to getting a healthy lead in score and running out the clock. It's as simple as that.

Eric Davis, two former Patriots and others have said the same thing but there's a distinction that must be made.

The Niners and Patriots dynasties never "ran the clock out" when up 17 points. They were, and former players admitted it, trying to EMBARRASS YOU! And lawd knows I've seen the Falcons get embarrassed by the Niners lots of times.

Back to the thinking of running out the clock.

Yeah, you can embarrass some teams in the regular season, and there'll be great matchups but when it comes to the playoffs every team must be able to run the damn football. There are great runners on some teams I will not mention who are fine backs but they play on teams that can't score early in games much less later in the game. Steven Jackson?

The Falcons went up on many teams in score last season,...Broncos, Saints, Panthers but let too many of those gmaes get close. Falcons went up 20 points in the playoff game with Seattle and struggled to hold on. Went 17 points,...17-0 on the Niners in the NFCCG,...and lost 28-24.

So listen close to the players who've been there. They can't help but let the little secrets out.
