Wow, that would be a huge first 3 rounds.

Why was I thinking we had two second rounders this year?

  3. #3
I like it as well. Maybe instead of taking Logan Ryan in the 3rd I'd take DT Bernie Logan, and then with our first pick in the 4th round I'd grab CB Darius Slay.

Of leave as is and then with our pick in the 4th take DT Hughes.

But dont' find a lot of fault with this one.

Note MLB Reddick doesn't go until late in the 3rd round, and AJ Klein is still not picked. That's good for us in my mind if actually plays out that way.

    Keenan Allen
    Alec Ogletree
    Terrance Williams
    Logan Ryan

This mock would definately work for me. Great start to the draft.

Add DT Hughes and OG Bailey in the 4th and this looks like a great draft class for us :-)
All he does is catch TOUCHDOWNS!!!!!!!!!!

The Vikings' picks look great in this draft but there are a few things about this draft that I have a hard time understanding.

I don't think the Jaguars take Gino Smith after drafting Blaine Gabbert two years ago. I see them pretty much in the same boat as the Vikings with Christain Ponder. I think they have to give Gabbert three years before they give up on him. If it was Luck or RG3 sitting there at number two it might be a little different but Gino Smith just has too many question marks.

I can't see the Rams taking Tyler Eifert at #22 after having just signed Jared Cook from the Titans. They have far too many other needs to fill.

If Star Lotulelei falls to the Vikings I would want them to draft him. How can you possibly pass on a guy like that? This draft has Lotulelei falling to #26. I realize he has question marks regarding his heart, but he was the number one rated DT prior to all the heart issues being raised.

This is a good point Ovike. If indeed we got Allen and Lotulelei in the 1st round, I'd then take MLB Reddick in the 3rd, and then CB Slay early in the 4th.

    WR Allen
    DT Lotulelei
    WR Williams
    MLB Reddick
    CB Slay

    That's a damn good start...

    Helluva draft right there !

OK, I am definitely defense heavy....and for one reason. We got a WR that can be our #1 for now. No pressure to have to draft a WR in round 1. 2 things worry me about Keenan and Ogletree. Look, my #1 pick must be healthy, and I will not risk a pick on a player with a heart condition (Star) or a WR that had knee issues. I can not take that chance. As stated earlier, 1st round busts last for a while.....well, not going to take the chance. Ogletree, different stance....not sure he can handle the NFL, I worry about his character and his ability to learn the game.

I need 2 first round picks that I think will be around for a while. I look at this:

Round 1. Arthur Brown and Sylvester Williams
    Round 2. Kevin Minter
    Round 3. Markus Wheaton
Round 4. Tyrann Mathieu and Bacarri Rambo
    Round 5. Demetrius McCray

We have no LB's...we can not field a team. We need top LB's (Brown and Minter) to come in and compete right away. We also need help with the DL....they need to do a better job of keeping the O-Line off our LB's and providing more pressure. WR in the 3rd round (Wheaton), I believe this draft is deep at WR.....I believe that Jennings, Wright and Simpson are the starters. Simpson is in his second year and might be able to add something this time.

CB and safety in the 4th, Honey Badger is a wild card...but I take a chance in the 4th round and Rambo comes in to help with safety. McCray is a tall CB that I also think can help out the defense.

Round 6-7 I look for more depth on the o-line or d-line.

Based on the health concerns, I completely understand that we do not want a potential health issue. Allen scares me too with a knee and hamstring issue.

So here is what I say...
1 - WR DeAndre Hopkins ... starts with Jennings immediately
1 - DT Jesse Williams... 4-3 DT Beast. Williams Wall again !
2 - CB Jamar Taylor... Starter at CB. Real depth now ! Taylor, Cook, Robinson, Jefferson, AW?
3 - OLB Sio Moore ... Could push Henderson aside immediately
4 - ILB Kiko Alonso... Really like this pick with Upside
4 - WR Josh Boyce... Better route running = Starter potential !
5 - I/O LB Lerentee McCray... LB depth and ST stud to be.
6 - SS Earl Wolff.... very poor mans Bob Sanders / ST player
