The NFL is committing suicide, they obviously don't get it.

I'm waiting for the owner who has the balls to say these guys are kneeling because of Michael Brown? Why? He punched a cop in the face and tried to take his gun, you're kneeling for that?

Goodell & the owners could have stamped this out pretty quickly last year simply by telling any player who wants to kneel or raise a fist during the anthem to stay in the locker room.

Also could have told the networks not to show the useful idiots kneeling otherwise when the next TV contract comes up your network will not be allowed to bid.

But alas they made a point of filming it before every game and propaganda stations like ESPN ran with it 24/7 and now the golden goose is dead, their own doing.

Before 9/11 the anthem was played over the loudspeaker while the camera was focused on the flagpole just before the players came out of the tunnel for the kickoff ....simple .

PS - And everyone stood with their hands over their hearts singing the national anthem.

These dopes are brainwashed by the media and talking heads on tv, they can't think for themselves.
Some of these players already made their money, you think these selfish players really care about the players who haven't. This is just football problem, as many other sports are facing these social warriors.( pawns being used by the democrat party

I don't concern myself with other people's political views. It's a free country not everyone is gonna agree the freedom to disagree/express opinions is just one thing that separates America from most (all?) other countries in the world.

I think it has more to do with the fact that the NFL is putting out a ****** product overall.

What the Jets are doing this season is one example. Another are the terrible penalties that wipe out excellent football plays the Forte tackle by Oakland, the Skrine hit followed by a tackle in the same game it's supposed to be football right?

I didn't watch the game but I read there was a terrible call made at the end of the Rams-49ers game that decided the game.

The modern game is a soft, overofficiated mess.

    LOL, seriously??

The NFL was more popular than ever until Kaepernick decided to bring his politics to the stage. But it isn't that he's expressing his views, it's HOW he's doing it, and by extension how the copycats are doing it (even kids now!). The flag and the anthem are reserved for gratitude for military predecessors and unite people in a show of patriotism for our Nation. Kaepernick made it clear that he is anti-cop and anti-American. And they are allowing it with no repercussions. THAT is (primarily) why their product is suffering. (Although, Kaepernick was justly rejected for his poor play and divisive ways, thankfully. Unfortunately he;s been cast as some sort of martyr, a ludicrous notion.)

Now, you may have a point that the game itself has been becoming softer and that has turned some folks off or to college, but it's more like an afterthought compared to the politicization of what used to be an escape for people. If people start kneeling in college games, the same thing will happen. If they do it in baseball games, same. People are sick and tired of these spoiled athletes whining about largely imagined injustices and using it as a bully pulpit for their hateful anti-American views.

Moreover, there are a host of other factors of less impact, like fantasy football, for example. People are less connected with teams more so than ever. The push to produce parity has also taken a toll. To give nearly all markets the impression that they have a fighting chance and to wean out dynasties. Also free agency has diluted fan loyalty, as their favorites often times go elsewhere. But this latter point is true of nearly all professional sports these days, and yet the NFL stood tall with fans loyal to laundry. And all these pale in comparison to Kaepernick and his exploits. The game withstood all of it, and then this nonsense has pushed many of the remaining loyal over the edge. Just like ESPN has as well with their constant leftism and politicization. It is very much so the straw that broke the camel's back.

BTW, the Thursday night game was pretty much decided by a ticky tack OPI call. Disgusting. But a million times less so than watching some America-hating puke express his selfish disrespect.

Or they could be like Jones, who told his team you kneel, you're gone. Find other ways to "express yourself". Hell, the league fines people for wearing the wrong socks and they couldn't find a way to nip this nonsense in the bud? LMAO

No, the reality is they were AFRAID of some imagined public backlash and perhaps protests. They didn't want to open Pandora's Box and wound up doing so with their inaction (i.e. blessing), somewhat ironically.

We expect the media to exploit this, but the powers that be in the NFL made a serious miscalculation. Ultimately though, it all points back to Barry and his divisive "organizing" ways. His ilk long for America to be torn at the fabric and they yearn for their poison to infect all areas of society. This is why the useful idiots at ESPN were so useful to them, even as their brand dies as well. These dumb f@cks killed the golden goose alright, but they get to their imagined socialist utopia faster in its wake.
