It will get us laughed at. Right around the time he gets benched. Every 2 faced beater will be wagging their finger at the Jets GM and making stupid puns and guffawing at how the Jets can't ever get anything right...

These are all the same people selling the idiot fanbase the Fitzmagic as savior line right now.

Jets have ZERO shot at the playoffs this season regardless of QB.

Why? LT, ILB, OLB, CB2, NT, RG, RT, TE, and oh yeah QB.

Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, Matt Forte, Carpenter and Nick Mangold can't carry a whole offense and we don't have a QB capable of carrying the team. Just like Revis, Harris, Mo and Sheldon can't make a defense work by themselves. We have nothing at edge rush right now. Mauldin will improve, so will Jenkins, but they won't become a dominant duo in 2016.
    J-E-T-S! It's not exactly a passion, it's generally more of a sickness.

FACT: The New York Jets will never win a Super Bowl with Woody Johnson as the owner.

Totally agree. The Fitz is so much better than Geno narrative is based on what people want to believe vs what reality is. People want to believe we have this great team and all we need is a caretaker QB to make a SB run. We don't. They want to believe Fitz can be the answer because the alternative is too bleak and hard to stomach and it involves young players learning on the job and throwing a few seasons away for the sake of developing young QBs. But Fitz can't do that. He never could and has proven incapable of that multiple times. But many fans need that false hope to get excited. Bad GMs pander to that and good ones don't. Then natives get restless and good owners ignore it and stay with the good GMs. Bad owners turn over the organization to appease worst part of the fanbase.

So 3-13 with Geno? And what with Fitz? What is that additional $10m going to get us?
He doesn't deserve another shot at the job.

    Plain and simple.

Only the Jets run their QB postion this way giving undeserving players seemingly endless shots at the job. They force fed us Buttfumble for four seasons, now they wanna force feed us Geno Smith again. Eff Woody! Eff MacCagnan!!

No other organization does this not even the dregs of the league. Jacksonville drafted Gabbert when they saw he wasn't getting the job done/the answer to the bench then off the team. They didn't scapegoat his teammates!!!

Geno Smith should have been the first cut this offseason.

What are you talking about? Endless shots? Force feeding? THIS regime just drafted Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg. They have absolutely NO INTENTION of giving endless shots to any QB. Not Geno or Fitz. They are just trying to BRIDGE THE GAP to getting their FUTURE in the game and that is 2017.

It all boils down to what they TRULY BELIEVE they will get in return for adding $12m to the team to be able to play Fitz instead of Geno. And when it is only for one season, this bridge season, there has to be LEGIT REASON to cut players and find cap space to go with the expensive guy over the cheap guy.

If you had a crystal ball and it said Fitz would take this team to the playoffs, Geno WOULD HAVE been cut and Fitz would be signed. The problem is Mac does not agree with you. mac thinks the difference between Fitz and Geno is MINIMAL in the W-L column.

Reality check. Fitz is a shitty QB. But hey you though Grossman was a great option too. So by those standards.....

Holy shit I get it now.

The Fitz media soap opera is a total joke, you'd think Aaron Rodgers was holding out for more money.

If Fitz signs for anywhere near $12mill then the jets better be getting a Super Bowl out of it, anything less and it's a total waste of time and money.

Let's see how you can navigate that shedule Fitz, the pressure is all on you now if you want to be paid like a top tier starting qb.

And I love that little shit Myers today saying how this is "such a typical Jets move" and then basically agreeing that Fitz is a bottom level QB and not worth what he's asking for. I really need to stop reading the beaters...all thye do is look for troublke and any opportunity to bash the team.
