to look at the perennial Pats-Fins match down here. Seems like they always visit here first and then we have to play up there duirng December. Its cool, though. Here's the prediction from my favorite prognosticator,
New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins Sunday Night Football Pick
September 26, 2010
The Sunday Night game is going to be a good one. Everyone and their mothers, shoot, even their step-mothers, were gung-ho for the Jets finding their way to the playoffs, and maybe even the Super Bowl this season. I know Rex Ryan was, and his asstalk situation sucked a lot of people in to believing. And after evening up their record at 1-1 with a big win over Tom Brady’s Patriots in Week 2, the talk and belief is back in full. I know the sportsbooks have to like what’s going on there.
The Dolphins, on the contrary, have slipped deep under the radar and aren’t even expected to get above .500 this season, let alone make the playoffs and do Super Bowl damage. They are being talked about as a mediocre offense with a no-name defense, but I’ll take a proud rushing attack, a quarterback that can make every throw (though not consistently yet), and a tough-nosed defense led by one bad man in newly signed free agent, Karlos Dansby. This is a team with some intrigue.
They are actually giving away a point on the road, so the sports books certainly recognize what the Fins are bringing to the table, even if they are going up against a defense ready and of course roaring about how they are going to shut down the Ricky and Ronnie show.
The Dolphins play well in conference, tapping into some winnings for sports betting enthusiasts last season, at least those that noticed the ATS winning trend within their division. In fact, over their last 9 against the AFC East, the Dolphins are 8-1 ATS. That’s something to look at. Miami beat New York twice last season, and these teams have very similar make-up, only the Dolphins defense has gotten a lot better, and the Jets will be without the best corner in football. I know Miami’s line has changed, but they are still doing decent things, protecting Henne and paving the way for the RB tandem in Miami. I think they continue to the beat New York trend this Sunday Night.
