Your Day 5 afternoon update
Tuesday August 4, 2009 6:37 PM By Roderick Boone
Both QBs looked pretty good this afternoon.
Mark Sanchez went 3-for-5 on the final series of 11-on-11s and finished his afternoon 4-for-6 with no TDs or INTs. Two of those five plays came with the first-string offense. He overthrew WR Jerricho Cotchery on a deep ball as he tried to squeeze one in between CB Darrelle Revis and S Kerry Rhodes, and rebounded to hit WR Chansi Stuckey on the next play.
Kellen Clemens was 2-for-3 and, no, he didn't throw any interceptions today.
So the daily QB meter will remain unchanged.
Daily QB Meter (on a scale of 1-5, zero being even): Remains at one in favor of the vet.
***********************************************
Watched T.J. Conley and Reggie Hodges punt from the 50 during special teams drills. The goal was to pin the ball as close to the goal line as possible.
Conley hit punts of 40, 47 and 41 yards, with the last one landing at the 9-yard line.
Hodges boomed a 48-yarder down to the 2-yard line and also had another punt of 37 yards. His hit final attempt too hard, however, and it landed in the end zone for a net of 30 yards.
