According to NFL Network's Adam Schefter, while the Chief's were on the clock with the 5th overall pick the New Orleans Saints made a huge play to move up and draft Glenn Dorsey. Schefter says the Saints were offering #10, #40, and their 2009 1st rounder. However, the Chief's decided to instead draft Dorsey, possibly the best overall player in the 2008 draft, and move forward with the 13 picks they had in hand.

Was this a wise move or would you have taken the deal and then tried to move around at the #10 spot??? Especially wanna hear Chiefan's comments on this. Let's hear it... :debate:

Dorsey's tailor made for the 3 technique in the Tampa 2. I love the passion the guy plays with and he'll soon become the leader of the defense. He's got some work to do with his hands and technique overall like all DTs who come from the colleigate level and dominate on athleticism and strength alone but they almost replace what they lost in Allen by getting Dorsey. If they would've moved down they wouldn't have gotten any DL worth that pick and would've been forced to reach for Albert at that point more than likely. Chiefs did the right thing, take the best player on your board (I had him ranked 3rd overall in the class, 2nd best defender behind Long) and don't look back.

The report was not true. The Saints never gave that offer.

Plus, if you look at the deals that were made, it doesn't come even close...Saints pretty much only gave up a 3rd if I believe to jump ahead of Cincy -- so you mean to tell me they'd offer a 1st and 2nd for 2 more spots. Baloney. It's not like he's Jonathon Sullivan :heh:

All jokes aside, I believe the Chiefs & Saints that this was an erroneous report.
