John Wade????

According to the Raiders web site John Wade (center) was signed today. Does this mean Newberry will not be brought back or possibly the end of Jake Grove if Newberry is signed shortly. Anyone got anymore info on this guy Name sounds familar but don't know too much other than he was with the Jags and Bucs.

Wade didn't miss a start for the Bucs from 2005-2007, but is 33 and was deemed replaceable by them this offseason. He'll back up Jake Grove. The move likely means that Jeremy Newberry won't be back in Silver and Black.

Newberry played well last year, hell maybe Wade wont even make the final roster.Or did he get a big bonus ?

Is everybody going to be so critical of every player signed by Oakland? Wade was a 3 year starter for Tampa Bay, who had a O-Line a hell of alot better than what we have had. And as far as Newberry, he was an oft injured backup center from the 49ers who was playing for an incentive based contract, and now all of a sudden went from being a horrible signing to irreplacable. I would take Wade over Newberry anyday. Newberry is an injury away from carrer being over, while Wade is a durable center. Now who would you want?

i cheered for the pickup of newberry though obv worried about his past, JUST like i was when we pciked up burgess.......so WHAT?? newberry played great and why now have his last games with us, the guy is still on top and jake grove has been nothing but a dissappointment!!! i am def not trashing the wade pick up so put that to bed Center is def a position ive been saying needed to get addressed....wish we would bring in another tackle but oh well....here comes the draft! irreplaceable? lol
