I'm a bit surprised it's that high.

Tennessee's defense is pretty good. Their running game is damn near excellent.
If VY has a good game they are hard to beat, when he has a bad game they just can't recover easily from them due to the style of play of the offense.

9 points does seem excessive but the Titans are extremely motivated. Haynesworth is hurting and will not be 100% come sunday. He was in Atlanta yesterday and spent 3 hours with a high profile chiropractor for his hamstring problem. Without him their defense is not so formidable. Unless Young gets hot it should be closer than 8 1/2 or 9.

I was assuming a healthy Haynesworth. Without him our offense will have more success. With him we arent running at all and Chad would be falling on his brittle ass all day long. If we can use any form of play action or have a threat of a running game to keep the LBs home, we have a much better chance.

You are so right, if we could somehow generate a running game or at least the threat of it our whole offense perks up.

Jets keep it close and cover yet lose. Draft position is increased and fans get another payout!
win-win! :peace:
(BTW, why did they name that 'tricky dick' emoticon "peace"???)

Why do you want your team to lose? For a draft pick?? Comeon man. 3rd pick or 7th pick, we'll get someone good. Not a good reason to want to see your team fail. Let the chips fall where they may. Play to win. I want to see the players on this squad play like they have a pair and show some f****ng self respect. See who has heart and who does not.
Surprisingly happy with the display from Dewey the last few games. I actually like the display of many of our defenders. Except Barrett. He should be released today.
We are still fundamentally flawed on our DLine, but they have shown they are capable if given a chance to succeed and not be relied upon to win games. If our offense could generate points and stay ont he field this year looks a lot different. We need to keep upgrading the positions on Defense through the next several drafts until we get the right pieces, but these guys are showing they might be able to scrap by enough if they got support.

I'd take a moral victory and be fine with that, thank you very much. I wanted them to beat the Pats in a worst way, but now there's no upside to winning the game.
What if Chad puts up three or four TD passes, would you like to see that steppy?
I've seen this team miss far too many picks by one win. Just look at 2005 where Herm motivated them for his last game and they beat Oakland to miss out on the big three. :glare: And it's not just the first round, they pick higher in every round.
So yes, I want to see improvement, progress, showcased talent, yadda, yadda with a big fat "L" after a close, hard fought game where they show tons of heart and get screwed over by the refs or something to barely lose.
Let's face it, 2007 ended a LONG time ago and a win would yield only fleeting happiness while a better selection of draft picks could usher in lasting joy for years to come.

Chad can put up a record 8 or 9 TD passes so long as we win the game. Maybe it would up his trade value considerably. I hope he throws a 80 yard rope too. So long as he doesn't get another owwwwwwieeeee...:crutch:
BTW, can any one explain the significance of this emoticon.

i wouldn't touch that line. the Jets without Coles are an anemic offense and the Titans are playing for a wildcard birth. Clarke is still starting and Haynesworth is getting healthier just thinking about it. The Jets might keep it close for a while but they are probably gonna lose this weekend.

According to the "Smilies" table it means "fish".
But if you ask me, it looks like some bizarre courting ritual Slik uses when he's south of the border.
Here's another example. :nut:
