Another board in the nflfans.com community, bearstalk.com, was also using the old software for their forum and was shut down and moved to the new board like us and it seems they are not takin it too well.

I registered at bearstalk right after we got Thomas Jones from them because I wanted to know if the fans felt they made a mistake keeping Benson and trading Jones when Jones has been the better of the two and more of a team leader. and since I am registered there,, they must;ve sent out a mass E-mail to all of their members stating tht theyfelt slighted by the sudden shutdown with no prior notice and are being forced to use the new board, so they are making their own board and hoping to brin their members with them.

Here is the E-mai they sent me:

Fellow Forum Members,

We want to apologize for the inconvenience you have had in accessing the BearsTalk Forum.

The owners of the server hosting BearsTalk.com decided to pull the plug on our old site and redirect all its members to a forum they wanted us to populate. You certainly can do so if you want, however, we did not like being told to do so without any advance warning. We would have appreciated them addressing the forum members with the idea BEFORE implementing their plan to take these measures. We have been one of the strongest Talk Forums on their Network for nearly a decade. We think they owed that much to us.

DaBearsDaBomb has generously provided us with a server to relocate our forum. He has been working tirelessly to build a new home for BearsTalk. It is currently called TalkBears.com. We will try to gain rights to the domain name BearsTalk.com but if we are unable to do so I think DBDB came up with a great alternative tag.

You can now visit the new forums at http://www.talkbears.com/forums/index.php

DBDB is still in the process of building and refining the site. He has done a tremendous job in quickly getting us up and running. We personally can not thank him enough for making us this cozy place to chat and stay together as a family.

Below are 2 messages, one from ConnorBear and one from DaBearsDaBomb. There is some repetition and some new items to know. All of us Admins hope you all join us soon and register.

Thanks to ALL the Admins who have made this transition possible, especially, DBDB!! Great Job Jason!!

From ConnorBear:

Bearstalk Users:

Due to the events of the past few days, we have decided to move our site to a new server. The site itself will be slightly different but it will allow us to continue to interact as Bears fans. Further, because our site will be on an independent server, we now have control in terms of capabilities we can provide to the members.

Unfortunately, all previous posts and site history have been lost. This will mean we will all need to re-register when signing into the site the first time.

Please go to the following location and sign in as a new user.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact one of the site Admins.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you may have experienced because of this change. We are all looking forward to getting back to talking about the Bears.

Regards,

ConnorBear

From DBDB:

Bearstalk.com Members:

I'm hoping all of you were able to hear about the move (either via the old Bearstalk.com forum or the mass email we are in the process of sending out to the members) from the sportsinfinity network to our very own independently operated site. The network had pulled the Bearstalk.com forums which had been in existence for 7+ years and merged it with some other random forums. As a result the admins all discussed various options and we decided to continue in the Bearstalk.com tradition but on our own (on our own server, with our own software, with us calling 100% of the shots).

It is unfortunate that we lost all of the posts that were on the old forums as well as everyone's user names (which is why each member will have to register again to post on this forum). We recognize that the above makes such move a bit of a pain in the short-term, but we also believe that this move will allow us to ensure that we never have to undergo such a process again, thus enabling us to keep a great Bears community striving. We also believe that having our own server will allows us to provide the Bearstalk community with new features as the site continues to develop, grow and change in the future.

We also realize that in the short-term the format will be a bit new to many of us, so if you run into any questions along the way, feel free to post any questions within this thread (or in the "How Does That Work" forum).

On a going forward basis we will continue to work on creating a new front page (similar to what Bearstalk.com's front page was on the network) which will consist of Game Recaps and other information and next season we are hopeful that we will all once again be participating in Pixote's Various Pick-Em Challenges.

Also, if you happen to know a member who somehow didn't get the message (whether we had the wrong email info or they weren't able to access the old forums) please pass them the new link (TalkBears.com). We are hopeful that in a short time we will be transferred the rights to the Bearstalk.com domain name (it is currently owned by the network that the site was previously hosted on) and than at that point Bearstalk.com will direct you to the new site.

Now let’s discuss some football
