Here's a quote from his Monday Morning QB article. Got a nice chuckle out of it.

7. I think this is what I didn't like about Week 13:

a. In case D'Brickashaw Ferguson didn't get the number of that truck that steamrolled him Sunday for an embarrassing, drive-ending sack in Miami, the number is 99. Jason Taylor. And D'Brick, you might want to learn leverage as part of your blocking bag of tricks.

b. This is the man the Jets picked No. 4 overall last year. The jury is, at best, still out on Ferguson. But he's been as leaky as dominant in his first year and three-quarters.
I give credit where it's due, Peter King you saw Jason Taylor get the inside on Brick and get by him for a sack, bravo. Far from getting steamrolled but ok, whatever you think will give your readers a chuckle. Honestly though, you might want to watch a little more than one play there big guy. Minus that ONE play can you point me to a spot in that game where Brick struggled? No, you can't you know why? He played a pretty strong game minus that ONE play against a DE that might possibly make a push for the HOF with a few more productive seasons that's why.

Lovely how you say nothing at all for the 9 straight weeks of dominant pass protection that he had from Weeks 2 through 10 where he shut down Terrell Suggs, Aaron Schobel twice, flat out dominated Jason Taylor in the first Miami game, neutralized Justin Smith, Andre Carter, and gave up a sack in garbage time to Osi Umenyoira in a game that was pretty much over after shutting him down for 58 and a half minutes. DeMarcus Ware got a few pressures against him but didn't get a sack, he had an up and down game against James Harrison who BTW made Jonathan Ogden, look like a backup caliber OT on Monday Night football a few weeks back, and as King pointed out here he gave up a sack against Jason Taylor.

Learn leverage? How about you learn to watch more than one play and actually come off as credible next time? His knock coming out was his average run blocking and that has actually been better since the bye week. I guess nitpicky criticism comes with being the 4th overall pick, one bad play and suddenly "the jury's out on you." Matt Light had Antwan Barnes, a role player for Baltimore blow by him for a sack on Monday Night. Bet the jury's still out on him is it? Does he need to learn leverage?

In short King? Back your analysis up with more than one play, that way you don't come off as nitpicky because newsflash, everyone gets beat eventually. If we're going to really be this silly make sure you call out Walter Jones or John Ogden the next time they give up a sack. Or are HOFers untouchable? It's ok, I don't expect you to make a bold move like that. After all if you did that you might come off as consistent.

Insert standing ovation smilie here. :thumb:

D'Brick's had his struggles at times (just like every young player), but look at the guys he's struggled with. Aaron Schobel's no slouch, for instance. Of course, Peter King probably wasn't watching when Ferguson had a very solid outing in his first start against the invincible New England defense last season.

I vote we demote Peter King each time he makes a snap judgment based on a single play. From this moment onward, he will be known as Peter Archduke.

P.S.- $500 says we'll be calling him Peter Dauphin* by Friday.

*- "Dauphin" = French Crown Prince.

Nice post Unknown. And it's even worse than that .. King said the jury is still out on Brick "at best". Puuuleeeez. :wtf2:

What ass:clown: Patsie rump swab Peter King doesn't know won't hurt him. The fact that Brick is a top five pick playing in NY makes him a lightning rod. And especially a position as invisible as LT to the average fan. In truth, he has struggled at times in pass protection, more than I would have liked to see, but he has improved lots since last year and is requiring less and less help while doing an even better job than last year.

What I also find interesting is how all the Marcus McNeil talk has waned and all but disappeared. Lots of folks (and you know how you are) loved trumpeting how they would have taken McNeil later on in the 1st and instead taken <insert name of successful player from that year> instead at four.

I wonder if 'ol Petie was among them.

Indeed. Just like on Sunday the commentators pretty much wanted to put Joe Thomas in the Hall already. Brick had just as good a game as Thomas did IMO. The only two differences are that the Browns are everyone's feel good story right now and that Joe Thomas plays next to one of the top 5 LGs in football while Brick plays next to backup quality guys at best.

Last year I wanted McNeil to put him at RT as I didn't think he had the quick feet to handle the speed rushers. This year he's looking more like the road grader I thought he was.

The Jets pass protection may have improved some since the start of the season, although not much, Kellen i still scrambling for his life at times back there, but the run blocking is horrendous! As incicated with that first and goal from the one foot mark and with TJ lined up 10 yards back getting to full speed twice, and ended up losing 4 yards.

That does fall on D'Brick as well as everyone else on the line, the run blocking just plain sucks and needs to be addressed this off season.
