Forums and Public Communication and SHOUTBOX

1] No links to or pictures that are NSFW. NSFW stands for "Not Safe For Work" and constitutes anything that most people would not want seen by their parents, teachers, or bosses. Note the emphasis on most people. Just because your math teacher may have a thing for tubgirl(yes, thats one of the photos where just enough bubbles seem to hide the "good" parts. Or do they?) doesn't mean someone else's boss will like it. These boards don't need half-naked women or bloody gore fests.

1a] No links to or pictures that are NSFW. If you feel you can't survive without looking at a half-naked woman for more than 5 seconds, we recommend Google. It is your best friend. NSFW postings may result in banishment. Do not post a link to NSFW, do not post a link with a disclaimer saying it is NSFW, that is considered an attempt to try and skirt around the rules, something that is highly frowned upon. If you feel you must tell someone about a picture or site, send the information via private message, email, or instant message, these aren't the boards for it. NSFW includes but is not limited to porn, tubgirl, goatse, or excessively gory/violent pictures. If you have doubts about whether it is NSFW, you are probably better off not posting it.

2] No spam. If your only purpose here is to promote your site or somebody else's site, you are welcome to do so elsewhere. Members who start off spamming right away get banned. Other members are evaluated on a case by case basis. Spamming by private message is also unacceptable, and may result in banishment or the loss of private messaging privileges.

3] No trolling. It should be just that simple, but some people have to make it more difficult than it is. Don't go to another board trying to start shit, there's no point because it's going to come back to bite you in the ass, be it in the form of a warning or banishment. Deliberate trolling includes but is not limited to rubbing salt in the wound (Examples include "How many Super Bowls have you won?" or "Wasn't that the same person who did [feat] to your team in [game]?") and general tasteless remarks about a team. It does not matter what board these remarks occur on. If it happens, it's trolling. If you are respectful to the intended audience of each forum, all will be fine.

4] Don't make it personal. Debates are fine, but attack the points presented, not the person. If a thread gets filled with flames, it'll be closed. If you're a culprit, you'll get a warning. At the same time, it is imperative that you remember that just because someone disagrees with your opinion, it is not always trolling. Do keep discussions civil, even if you know that the other person is completely wrong. If you are respectful to the intended audience of each forum, all will be fine.

5] Don't argue with the ban. If you don't know why you got banned, you are free to contact an Administrator or Super Moderator, we'll tell you what you did to get the banstick. However, once you're told why you got banned, don't be a bitch and argue about it. Doing this will give you extra vacation time from the site. Also, do not create new accounts once you are banned. We know it's you, and doing so will make your ban permanent. If you really want to come back, suck it up and accept that you're being held accountable for your actions, then wait for the ban to expire.

6] Don't make the moderators' jobs more difficult. If you feel you were wronged by a moderator, that is fine. Disagree and let us know, however, do so politely and by private message. Don't be a dick about it and spout off on the public forums because of what is probably a minor "injustice". Doing that gets you on our bad side very fast, and possibly sends you to a time-out. At the same time, don't try to be cutesy and sit and split hairs regarding the rules to show how smart, edgy, and political you are. If you want a revolution, you've come to the wrong place. Trying to skirt around the rules will get you banned fast.

7] Don't pay homage to the banned. This might get you banned as well. The point of a person being banned is that they are no longer a part of this community. However, if you wish to contact the staff to get information to reach a banned member, that is acceptable. The mention of a banned person in passing can be deemed acceptable, but do not focus on them. Threads such as "Oh, TrollfromSeptember, I do miss you" or "Look, it's UberTroll's birthday" will get you thrown out pretty quick.

8] You aren't a moderator, don't correct posters like you are. If you have beef with a post, use the "Report bad post" button. It's located on every post, and it is your friend. Trying to solve a problem on your own will in turn cause more problems than it's trying to fix. Let the powers that be take care of it.

9] Don't plagiarize. If you get information from another source, give credit where it's due. No, we're not asking for a works cited page or a bibliography with every post, but a mention of the place you found the information as well as the author, or even better, a link to the article itself, should be more than enough to cover your butt. The warnbot will make a trip to your private message box if you decide credit doesn't need to be issued.

10] Don't get political. We tried the political post, and it didn't work. Don't even bother, because the post will go away quicker than you can say "voter fraud". Topics about contemporary issues that have a connection to the government/administration are not allowed. Posts mentioning prominent political figures are not allowed. Discussion of current administrative policies in government are not allowed. Just don't try. If you have a political agenda you have to force upon others, there are plenty of political sites where you can go when you have an axe to grind, and this isn't one of them. This includes your signature images or comments.

11] Use your common sense. These rules have generally been in place since the inception of the boards. However, they are here for a reason, and we hope that you follow them. Remember that your opinions do not supersede or negate the opinions of others, and if you think doing something will get in trouble, you are probably better off not even bothering.

Also, don't forget who pays for this site. We reserve the right to remove or edit any content from any forum at any time for any reason we so desire.

Some of the words listed here are new to some of you. Here is a quick list of definitions for said terms:
Smurfing - Creating an alias to your account. In some cases, this is acceptable (For example, humorous or secret santa purposes), however, using it to circumvent a ban, troll anonymously, etc. are not acceptable.
NSFW - "Not Safe For Work." Something that could get most people in trouble with their boss/teacher/parent if said person saw it over their shoulder. Usually naughty pictures, adult discussion, gross things, etc, but can also apply to those flash gizmos that make you take an eyesight test then suddenly spring screaming zombies at you.
Goatse - Photographic picture featuring the rear end of anatomy, notorious around the Internet. It has its own website; if you are desperate to know more, search on Google, but we REALLY donít recommend it.
Tubgirl - Photographic picture featuring creative uses of anatomy and liquids, notorious around the Internet. If you are desperate to know more, search on Google, but we REALLY donít recommend it.

Signature Limitations: The size of an image shall be no bigger than 100K (File size), and the combined size of your signature (This includes all images and text) shall be no bigger than 700 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall. If you have an image you like but it is too large, feel free to ask for help, as there are many folks here who know how to resize images. Usually you'll be greeted with a private message asking to change the signature, but if there are repeated violations, action may be taken via the warning system. (Note: To find out how large a picture is, right click on it and select "Properties")

Notes on bans: Not all bannings are permanent. Some only last for a day, some longer, and yes, some are permanent. As a result, it's in your best interest not to do something stupid once banned, as that will certainly extend your vacation. Smurfing may result in your banishment becoming permanent, so don't even bother doing that. We don't always tell you what kind of ban we issue, but you're probably better off finding out what kind of ban it is so you don't go putting your foot in your mouth to make it a permanent one. If you have been permanently banned, don't come back. You're not welcome. Go find a message board where they like trolls, because we're tired of your shit.
